How can I increase/decrease hardware resources on a Dynamic Cloud Server?

This process could potentially take a few hours to complete (depending on circumstances). It is best to perform a hardware configuration change when down time is least inconvenient.

Step 1:

Log in to the 1&1 Control Panel using your Customer ID OR domain name and your password at: http://admin.1and1.com

If you have only one package, you will land on the Administration page. If you have more than one package, select the Packages tab at the top. Select the package in question to reach its Administration page.

Step 2:

Click on Hardware Configuration in the Server Administration section of the 1&1 Control Panel.

Step 3:

Choose a Default setting for the configuration. You can choose a recommended setting from the drop-down box or use the slider bars to customize your setup. View below for further explanation of each.

Apply recommended configuration
Choose a selection from the drop-down menu. This will assign a hardware configuration suggested for the option chosen. Check the slider bars below to view the suggested hardware configuration and price.

Once an acceptable option has been found, click the Next button to proceed. Otherwise, choose Adopt your own configuration and view the section below to manually set the configuration.

For a Windows Server, log into the server and shut down the server from the Start menu.
For a Linux Server, log in via SSH and use the command shutdown -P now and press Enter to issue the shut down command.
