How many domains can be hosted with my package?

How many websites or domains that can be hosted on any given package depends on many different factors.

If this is a question of how many domains can you add to a package? The
answer is, if they are registered with 1and1.com then there is no limit; if
the domains are registered elsewhere and are added as external
domains then that depends on the package you have and you should check
1and1.com for the limits on external domains for your package.

If the question is about how many websites you can host, this depends on
what you are trying to accomplish and with what tools. If you are using
the Website Builder tool to build your websites then you are
limited to the number of WSB projects your package is allowed. If you
are installing Wordpress, Joomla, or any of the other very good open
source content management systems available, you are most likely going
to be limited by the number of databases available for your package.

If your sites are feature rich then you may run into resource problems
because each shared account is allotted a certain amount of resources
and if your sites attempt to use more then is allotted your
site will throw 500 errors. If it is a managed or dedicated server you
have significantly more resources available to you as you are the only
user on that machine, however, each machine still has a finite amount
of memory and resources.

If you have a dedicated machine and are using Plesk to manage the web
server, you most likely have a finite number of domains that can be
added into Plesk.

If you are running Ecommerce sites, you need to be aware of the number
of IP addresses and SSL certificates that are possible to have with each
account.

So the real answer to this question is that you will need to know what
your requirements are and what your most likely bottle neck is going to be.
